When in battle, you could control your fleet's ships in real time, seamless fighting. It would require a number of turns to construct or move a ship/etc. However, Star Wars: Empire at War was both. Is there anyone else out there feel the same way?Д«otF was an alright game, when it first came out i was far more impressed, that said the AI was poor, but if you were a TBS gamer from that kind of era of game it was the same across the board, i think developers had to decide weither players were willing to wait an hour for the AI to make a really good move, or to keep the decision making time for each turn down to a minimum. Id love to see a game like that come back out, with all the newer modern graphics, 3D modeling, and more powerful computers surly a developer out there could make something like this game again with an AI that is truly challenging, for crying out loud the requirememnts for BotF could largly be met by most mobile phones now a days. and yes i suppose finding that position is the tactical thinking part of real time strategies but me and my mate were just remembering how when we played BotF we would sit and have to try to get into your opponents head and figure out where they were going to move to. and i think thats the main point, in real time strategy you would position your fleet/troops/whatever in a position that regardless what way your opponent moves you can intercept them. dont get me wrong i know turn based strategy is an old thing now, everything is real time strategy now a days but there is just something about turn based strategy that is missing from real time.
